National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Photographs

This page contains the best of the photographs taken by the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The NOAA operates under the auspices of the National Ocean Service, the National Weather Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, and the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service.

Most NOAA photos are in the public domain and CANNOT be copyrighted. Although at present, no fee is charged for using the photos credit must be given to the NOAA unless otherwise instructed to give credit to the photographer or other source.

See TERMS OF USE before downloading any image. To download an image, click on the thumbnail, a popup window will appear that displays the full-size image. Right-click on the full-size image and in the the menu that appears, select "save Picture As...". In the "Save Picture" dialog box that appears, navigate to a folder in which you want to save the image.
