How to Write Articles for Profit
by Michelle Driver
While most Internet marketers are beginning to realize the value of writing
articles to generate promotion for their web site via of increasing potential
traffic customers, the problem remains that getting started in the article
writing task is the greatest hurdle to overcome. While procrastination plays a
key factor in holding one back from the task of writing an article, the major
holdback is not knowing the specific how to steps in the writing process.
Well not any more... In this article I'll show you the exact steps to take from
beginning to end to achieve maximum publicity for your web site by writing the
best informative articles. If you follow these steps as presented, you will be
able to complete your article quickly, easily, and most importantly, you will
know how to begin immediately.
1. When it comes to writing, the very first thing to consider is the purpose or
objective of your article. What do you want it to accomplish. Try stating this
purpose in one sentence. For example, if your purpose is to promote an affiliate
link and generate commissions from the sell of a particular product or service,
you would write as your objective something similar to this, "My purpose is to
promote an affiliate link and generate commissions for xyz home business
software package (or whatever product and/or service your are promoting)." You
would not include your purpose statement in your article it would be for your
eyes only, to guide your writing.
2. When you have identified your article purpose and written it down, the next
step to consider is the basic theme of your article. In other words, what
exactly do you want to write about - what do you want to say that will persuade
your readers to purchase the product or service you are promoting.
For example, suppose that "My purpose is to promote an affiliate link and
generate commissions for xyz home business software package," as given above in
example 1, happens also to be your purpose. If that were the case, then ideally
your article should tell others how to make money from the "xyz home business
software package."
3. Once you have formulated and written down your purpose, the next step is to
write a rough draft of your article. By rough draft, I mean just jot it down the
way it comes to mind without concern for order, spelling, punctuation, or
correct sentence and paragraph construction - just let your ideas flow and write
it down as they come.
Afterwards, go back through your rough draft article adjusting and tweaking the
content where necessary, to make sure it harmonizes with the theme of your web
site. To accomplish this, in some instances, you will need to cut and add
content here and there, and still at others, you will need to reword the content
slightly or completely.
In keeping with what has been stated thus far, let us suppose that your web
site or that of an associate where you are an affiliate provides information
that explains or instructs others in how to start a home business selling its
"xyz home business software package." If this were the case, then the theme of
your article should harmonize with the web site content by emphasizing some of
the positive benefits of starting a home business that sells software. Some of
those benefits you could list would be: more family time, increased earnings,
being your own boss, taking time off whenever you want to, not having to commute
to and from work each day, and a list of other numerous and similar benefits.
